During training and in battle Terre's first priority is always his team's safety. However, he can be pushed to extreme anger towards an enemy and his conscious becomes clouded.
Terre is a naturally kind person and appears to be easy to talk to. However, meeting new people makes him very anxious and he tends to keep to himself in large groups. In the mines he was around the same people for ten years, suddenly being removed and put into a strange place hasn't done him much good. His main worry is that he will not fit in with the rest of the recruits given he probably from a very different background, connections would be difficult to forge. After being around the same people in the mines for ten years, creating new relationships is a daunting task. Interacting with people isn't his forte, Terre loves to work. If given a task he will work tirelessly to complete it, be it a simple chore or a difficult mission with a squad.
Once he gets to know someone he opens up and becomes a loving friend, always willing to help or lend an ear. But one thing to note is he falls for little tricks very easily (the ol' "gullible is written on the ceiling" thing, your shoe is untied, there's something on your shirt, etc.) He likes to trust his allies instead of questioning their intentions-he usually assumes they are good.
On the battlefield, his natural leadership skills push him to take charge. As stated before, when given a task Terre will work tirelessly to complete it. This applies to battle as well. When assigned to take out an enemy, he will pull out all the stops to ensure that they are destroyed. But under no circumstances will he risk the lives of his teammates to achieve victory, at least not intentionally. If the fight drags on for a long time his conscious risks becoming clouded, leading to some rash decisions. Terre is also very time-conscious, and often worries about not having enough time to complete a task. His patience goes out the door on a timed mission and can be quick to scold teammates for any unnecessary actions. 



Likes: Staring into space, a hot meal, laughter of friends, strong companionship, connecting to his mech 
Dislikes: Ghost stories (he gets legitimately scared), climbing up to tall heights, his metal limbs, math 

Strengths: 
Speed/Agility - Although Terre is bulky, his body moves swiftly as he uses his rapier to rapidly strike an opponent. (To get an idea, look up the Olympic Fencing/Foil. But his weapon is not as bendy) 
Natural Leader - Terre has a way with words and actions that move people to follow him, even if he doesn't realize it. He has an unbreakable will, strong morals, and a burning desire for justice. 

Weaknesses: 
Lacking Defense - After a strike, Terre is often left open for attacks. He is only capable of close-combat, very vulnerable to long-distance fire. 
Mechanical Glitch - The nerve connections between Terre and his metal prosthetic were rushed and never healed properly, some connectors link close to his heart. Sometimes when he panics and his heart rate escalates suddenly, it disturbs the sensitive nerves and can give him a 'shock'. He also finds that his limbs will not move exactly to his command. Ex. He wants to grip with his thumb, but his index finger moves instead. The glitches have only been getting worse and more painful.

Background: 
Terre was barely ten when the Monsoros invaded. The vast majority of his town were imprisoned, taken to the ships as slaves. The Duchamps family hid and remained on Earth, but they eventually became labor workers in mines harvesting precious minerals. The men would work deep in the mines chipping away at the earth, they barely got to see the light of day. The women and children were held elsewhere where they sorted the minerals the men had mined. It was back-breaking work, countless people died. But Terre miraculously stayed alive after years of harsh conditions, his body adapting to the work and bulking up. He became a bit of a leader as he aged and matured, others looking to him for guidance in troubled times. Terre assumed the role though he was hesitant, doubting that he could really lead at a young age. 
The Monsoros noticed Terre rising as a figure of power in the work camp, becoming a pillar to rally around. This unity was seen as dangerous, and Terre was to be removed. Instead of just taking the young man and risking a rebellion, the Monsoros decided to stage an 'accident'. 
A normal day at work, the mines had many tunnels that connected to one large cavern that held machinery. The machines jammed often when smaller rocks slipped between the gears and removing them was a risk. When one machine jammed, Terre didn't even think twice about climbing to fix it. The large machine he was fixing was crane-like. A rock had jammed the spool that the wire wound around. This machine was always anchored to the ground. Always. 
But not today.
The Monsoros guard removed the stakes that kept the machine down and when Terre reached the half-way point, the crane began to tip. One moment he was on his way to do a simple fix, the next he was on the ground. Left side pinned under the metal. It took a dozen workers to lift the crane again enough to get the young man out, but the damage was done. 
Within a few weeks, Terre had his entire left arm, leg, and part of his rip cage replaced with metal. During the process of removing his necrotic limbs and connecting foreign metal, Terre attempted to fight them. This, however, earned him a concussion and deep gashes on his face from a Monsoros commander. The pain stifled his anger, allowing the Monsoros to detain him again. 
The Monsoros moved him to the space fleet where he was to begin his work after a recovery period. The transport ship was attacked en route, another alien crew ushered the workers to a different ship. 

Some time has passed since his rescue, and Terre had been put into training as a fighter pilot. No mech had resonated with him, so he was left without a squad for some time. 
But recently, he began feeling an energy calling to him. Visions of a sleek metal body filled his dreams. And one night, he decided to find the source.
The halls were empty, a few dim lights lit the way. He rounded countless corners, delving into part of the building he had never been to before until he came upon a large door. The energy was almost palpable to him at this point. He lifted his hands to the doors and hesitated for a moment before pushing his way into the room. 
Before him stood a massive mech, the force-field surrounding it glowed bright indigo. The moment he locked eyes with the machine, his body moved on its own. Forward. Right hand reaching forward and pressing against the barrier.
The force-field dissipated and the eyes of the... beast... began to glow before it lowered its head towards Terre, its movements creating a rush of wind in the chamber.
